By Cod! The fishin's great
Keen anglers are out and about hitting the Chaffey, Lake Keepit and our river systems trying to catch that elusive Murray Cod as the season has just kicked off.
So far, some huge Murray Cod have been caught in Keepit Dam, with some pushing around 70 to 80 centimeters.
Dean McFarlane from Tamworth Fishing Tackle and The Great Outdoors said “some blokes have been pulling massive Cod and there seems to be an awful number of Cod out there”.
Recent inflows have made for some of the best conditions seen for many years, as the Murray Cod environment is much healthier following years of drought.
Fisherman are reminded that a daily bag limit of two Murray Cod per person is in place, and a total possession limit of four applies when fishing in any inland waters and are required to release the Murray Cod which are smaller than 55cm or bigger than 75cm with the least possible harm.
