Country Music Capital Top 20 27 March 2020

Another week and another new #1! Allison Forbes takes up the top spot after eight weeks on the chart with ‘Broken Radios’, the first single from her debut album ‘Bonedigger’ and that pushes Brent Larkham and Voodoo Town’s ‘Cool Karma’ down from #1 last week to #2 this week. These moves seem to have stopped ‘Good Momma Bad’ by Andrew Farriss from scoring his second #1 as he moves down one place to #3 (but who knows what may happen – remember Morgan Evans and ‘Diamonds’ went up and down like a lift before hitting #1). Two songs hit the top ten for the first time: ‘Weekend’ by Travis Collins is at #9 and The Crosby Sisters hit #10 with their distinctive cover of John Prine’s ‘Please Don’t Bury Me’. (Incidentally, this is the first time in almost two decades that they have had a chart hit – you can’t keep a good girl duo down!). There’s also two new entries in the top 20 – ‘Carry You With Me’ by Christie Lamb at #19 and ‘Hard Times And Struggle’ by Allan Caswell at #19. Our three hit picks this week are all by artists who have had a #1 on our chart: The Western Distributors, The McClymonts and Natalie Pearson.
