Country Music Capital Top 20 Jan 24, 2020

We finish up the Tamworth Country Music Festival with a brand new #1 – the Tom Curtain, Lee Kernaghan and Sara Storer tribute to Joy McKean called ‘She Gave Us The Song’, while Amber Lawrence moves up to place to #2 with ‘Hell To Hallelujah’ and Darlinghurst’s ‘So Long So Long’ moves into #3. That means last week’s #1 – ‘Do That’ by Gina Jeffreys – moves down to #4. Two new songs make it into the top ten – and in a big way. ‘Marijuana Australiana (Re-hashed)’ by the Bushwackers moves up eight spots to #7 (and we played an great live acoustic version sung by Dobe Newton and Roger Corbett which was featured on 88.9FM’s morning session today) and at #8, moving up 5 places is Rory Ellis’s ‘Bitumen Cowboys’. Two new entries make the chart this week – ‘The High Price Of Surviving’ by Shane Nicholson (#19) and ‘Give Me Tonight’ by Brad Cox (#20)
