Coronavirus knocks out Group 4 League Nines and Ladies Tag
THE CORONAVIRUS has knocked out two major Group 4 Rugby League pre-season competitions – the Jack Woolaston 9’s and Ladies League Tag Knockout - but the regular season is still timed for an early May kickoff.
An emergency Group 4 Board meeting was held this morning with Greater Northern Tigers regional manager Scott Bone who informed Group 4 the NSW Rugby League has ordered all pre-season competitions up to May be called off.
Mr Bone said The NSWRL will continue to work with the Groups, clubs and all authorities for the safety of all players and communities.
Group 4 chairman Ray McCoy said while the 9’s and Lady’s League Tag pre-season competitions have been abandoned the Group is still preparing for the season kickoff and we are still moving forward to that May 2/3 kickoff season
The NSWRL was continuing to discuss the Covid-19 outbreak and, in consultation with the National Rugby League, come up with the best defence against it.
