Man charged with drug offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the Werris Creek/Tamworth area..

Last April officers from Oxley Police District’s Proactive Crime Team , established Strike Force Catkin to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs and this morning they arrested a 31-year-old man at a home on Henry Street, Werris Creek.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply cannabis, deal with property proceeds of crime and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

He has been refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court tomorrow and Oxley Police District’s Crime Manager, Acting Inspector Jason Darcy, said police want to get prohibited drugs off our streets and will continue to target those who supply drugs in our community.

Anyone people who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in the Werris Creek or Tamworth area are urged to come forward.
