Tamworth Broadcasting Society welcomes news stringer

With the new transmitter for 96.3fm now sending the Society’s Tamworth 88.9fm programs into Quirindi and the Liverpool Plains, we have appointed Quirindi’s

Carissa Ryan as our on the ground news journalist/stringer.

Carissa is a Bachelor of Media and Communications graduate from the University of New England, majoring in Media and Culture and has plenty of experience in marketing and a good knowledge of the Plains and its residents.

She is the Publicity Officer for the Quirindi Show Society and has also been named as a runner-up in the Quirindi Miss Showgirl competition.

Carissa has undertaken work experience with Quirindi Printing and Publishing which produces the Quirindi Advocate, including writing stories, overseeing the general running and production process of the newspaper and editing content.

As part of the 88.9fm’s commitment to ensure the success of the new 96.3fm within the Liverpool Plains shire, it was felt that having someone on the ground to talk to residents and councillors would provide a closer connection to the region.

Carissa’s experience and dedication to both the role of journalist/stringer and her knowledge of the area brings an additional credibility to the stations’ news gathering and reporting and will further enhance the already highly regarded Tamworth Broadcasting Society’s radio news service in the New England North West.
