Tamworth house fire started in kitchen

At around 11am this morning, fire crews attended a house fire on the corner of Marius and Bligh street in Tamworth.

Two fire crews from South Tamworth and one unit from Tamworth attended the scene to find smoke and flames coming from a single-level house.

NSW Fire and Rescue Superintendent Tom Cooper told 88.9 and 96.3 FM all occupants of the dwelling were accounted for and the fire has been contained.

Fire crews believe the fire began in the kitchen and investigations into the incident are continuing.
