Werris Creek water alert still in place

The boil water alert for residents connected to the Werris Creek water supply is still current even after the problem with the water treatment plan supplying water to Werris Creek residents has been fixed as unsafe water had already made its way into the reservoir.

Liverpool Plains Shire Council's director of Infrastructure and Environmental Services, Nathan Skelly, warned residents must not become complacent even if the water appears to be okay.

Council staff will continue to work with NSW Health to determine when it is safe to remove the alert.
