Woman arrested over deliberately lighting house fire

Following extensive investigations, a 46 year old Gunnedah woman has been charged after allegedly deliberately lighting a house on November 20 last year.

Emergency services were called to a home on Quia Road, Gunnedah, following reports the home was engulfed with flames and the NSW Rural Fire Service took several hours to contain the blaze.

Officers from Oxley Police District commenced inquiries into the fire and the woman was arrested yesterday and taken Gunnedah Police Station and charged with damage property by fire greater than $15,000.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court next Tuesday.
