ANZAC Day 2026 commemorative services in the Tamworth region

TAMWORTH DAWN SERVICE – ANZAC Gates Memorial - ANZAC Park (5.30am):

· 5:25am the lights will be dimmed in preparation for the commencement of the service at 5.30am.

· 5:30am Dawn Service begins.

GIPPS STREET SERVICE:

· 6.30am for 7.00am Memorial Service at the Gipps Street War Memorial, West Tamworth.

VETERANS, SERVICE & EX-SERVICE PERSONNEL BREAKFAST - Wests Diggers, Kable Ave. and Tamworth Services Club, Marius St. (6:15am)

· 7:20am Hannafords Bus departs Wests Diggers Club, Kable Ave. for Kootingal Services

· 7:30am Hannafords Bus departs Tamworth Services Club for Kootingal Services

KOOTINGAL SERVICE, –War Memorial,

· 8am march from Kootingal Public School, Denman Avenue to Memory Park for service at 8:45am.

VETERANS MEMORIAL MARCH – Railway Memorial Park (10.00am):

· Service and Ex-Service perons who wish to participate are to form-up in front of Railway Memorial Park (Marius Street) at 9:30am for a 10.00am step off.

· School students to assemble on Bourke Street at 9:30am.

· Railway Memorial Park Commemoration Service and wreath laying at 9:45am.

· At 10am, the march will move down Bourke Street, left into Peel Street, then left into Fitzroy Street to the Tamworth Memorial Town Hall. Students turn right on Fitzroy Street to No. 1 Oval.

MAIN COMMEMORATION SERVICE – Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall (10.45am):

• Veterans and members of the community are invited to attend the Main Commemoration Service in the Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall. The service will commence at 10.45am. Guest Speaker: Mr Ray James OAM, Former RSL NSW President.

VETERANS LUNCHEON – Wests Diggers, Kable Avenue, Tamworth (12.00noon):

· Tamworth sub-Branch Members, all Veterans and their families are invited to attend the ANZAC Day Luncheon at Wests Diggers Club, 12 noon for 12:30pm. STRICTLY NO DOOR SALES: Neat, appropriate dress is required.

Membership is not a prerequisite for participation in the march and luncheon. All veterans welcome, local or visiting.

ATTUNGA ANZAC DAY MARCH (3.00pm):

• Marchers are to assemble in front of Attunga Public School at 3.00pm prior to the commencement of the march at 3.15pm.

BARRABA

DAWN SERVICE – Memorial Clock (06.00am):

· Assembly at 5.454am for 6.00am Service - Queen and Maude Street; march from Queen and Alice Streets to Memorial Clock

· 11.00am Commemorative Service - War Memorial Clock, Queen Street; Form up at 10.40am for 10.50am ANZAC Day March.

BENDEMEER

DAWN SERVICE –  5.30am, Anzac Gates in Memorial Park, Memorial Drive, Bendemeer followed by breakfast at Bendemeer Town Hall.

· March from corner of Havannah Street and Memorial Drive at 10:40am; to conclude at Memorial Park with Service to commence at 11.00am. 12:30pm Luncheon at the Bendemeer Hotel.

DURI SERVICE:

· 7.30am Commemorative Service at Duri Sports, Werris Creek Road

MANILLA

DAWN SERVICE – 5.30am, Manilla Soldiers Memorial Hall, Manilla Street

· 7.00am Breakfast, Manilla Services Club

· 10.30am form up for march; 10.45am march commences exiting Manilla Services Club

· 11.00am, ANZAC Day Service, Manilla Soldiers Memorial Hall

· 12.00pm ANZAC Day Service, Manilla Cemetery Cenotaph

· 1.00pm Manilla RSL Sub-branch Day Lunch, Manilla Services Club

NUNDLE SERVICE:

· 11.00am Service at the Nundle Memorial Hall; 11.45am form up at Jenkins Street for main march to the Cenotaph; 12.00pm flag ceremony and wreath laying.

SOMERTON SERVICE:

· The march will assemble at the Somerton Public School in Milkmaid Street at 7.45am, and arrive at the Somerton War Memorial Hall on the corner of Scotland Street and Joshua Street, for a Commemorative Service at 8.15am. Morning tea to follow (bring a plate).

ROAD CLOSURES

TAMWORTH CBD:

Roads will be closed from 9am - 11:30am and include:

• Marius Street (between Darling Street and Brisbane Street, access via Darling street for parents dropping off school children for the march only). 

• Bourke Street (between Peel Street and Marius Street)

• Peel Street (from Bourke Street to Fitzroy Street)

• Brisbane Street (from Dowe Street to Kable Avenue)

• Fitzroy Street (between Kable Avenue and the Town Hall)

• Kable Avenue (at Fitzroy Street)

Brisbane Street will be closed from 4am to 6.30am between Upper Street and Napier Street 

Gipps Street between Denison Street and Belmore Street will be closed to traffic from 6am to 10am.

NUNDLE (10am - 12:30pm):

• Jenkins Street from Nundle Town Hall to Innes Street

• Innes Street from Gill Street to and including the Jenkins Street intersection

• Oakenville Street at the Jenkins Street intersection 

BENDEMEER (10:15am - 12:30pm):

Memorial Drive will be closed to traffic.

KOOTINGAL (6am - 9am):

Denman Avenue will be closed to traffic from the school to the Gate Street intersection

MANILLA (5am - 12pm):

• Court Street will be closed to traffic from Rowan Street to Manilla Street

• Manilla Street will be closed from Court Street to Market Street from 5am to noon.

SOMERTON (6am - 10am):

Milkmaid Street and Scotland Street will be closed to traffic

BARRABA (5:30am - 12:30pm):

Queen Street will be closed between the intersection with Alice Street to Maude Street.

ATTUNGA (2:30pm - 5pm):

Attunga Street and Cross Street will be closed to traffic
